In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.

Yesterday we went to Gulf State Park and enjoyed a nice, long walk. Hmmm. Most of it was enjoyable.

Richard enjoys communing with nature. Me? Not so much. But as it was a warm, sunny day I was ok with it. I’m a warm weather walker. Perfect. And not many bugs this time of year and that suits me just fine.
Gulf State Park is lovely. Lots of trails. Boardwalks on land and over water.
On our excursion these posted signs caught my attention. There were many of them. Signs that is. Not alligators or snakes. Never saw one. I could pass on the snakes but would have liked to have seen an alligator.

Now the park also posts these signs regarding what you can/might see.
Right.

Well this is what we saw.

I guess better than nothing.
Now I know myself. And I know I often need to find bathrooms. And use them whenever I do find them. Even if I’m sure I don’t have to. You never know when the next one will be available. Famous last words.
We were about 3.5 k into our walk and oh yes. I needed to go. Passed a sign that said .7 miles to the Interpretive Centre. So walk a little faster and hold on. Gritting my teeth and honestly not a happy camper. Whew made it. No no no no no. Washrooms closed. Give me a break. Middle of the day and the centre was closed. So off to the next building.
Hallelujah. Success. Washrooms open. Not the cleanest but at that point I did not care. When a girl’s gotta go, a girl’s gotta go.
At least this made the walk back to the car much more enjoyable. And me in a more pleasant mood.
The after walk treat was a Starbucks Matcha Tea Latte and the new Potato, Cheddar, and Chive Bites. The bites were good but I won’t have them again. I prefer their egg bites.
Enjoyed the rest of the afternoon reading on the deck.
And to top it off we had a lovely meal and evening with our friends Joanne and Jean. Can’t ask for more than that.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post. I’ll let you in on the reason for this walk.
