Yesterday I gave a short blurb on getting home. Here’s more about yesterday and today.
So yesterday we were up at 5:00 am but knowing we’d have a shorter day of driving we chose to hit up Starbucks for coffee ☕️ and green tea 🍵 and a bit of brekkie. What a shock when we entered.

Well, not actually when we entered. We didn’t even notice the dining area blocked off until we ordered and she said it was only take out.
What a difference a day makes. They’re trying.

Ok then. Off to eat in the car.
We took a slight detour to Old Orchard Beach. We usually go there for a weeks vacation in late spring or fall but we were so close Richard wanted to see the sunrise. What a difference in winter. And it was cold. Or as Richard said,”It’s bloody cold.”.

Off we went on the last leg of our trek home. And what a great drive it was. Very little traffic and lovely driving weather. Quick too. We did notice at the toll booths some wore gloves and some didn’t. I would have expected them all to be wearing them due to the exchange of money.
I don’t know about you but I’m always apprehensive when going across the border. I didn’t even have as much as I could claim but I was still worried. Maybe this time was more because of COVID-19. We crossed at the Houlton, NB border and it was the easiest and quickest I’ve ever know. Best time ever.
Things she said at the border.
Can I see your passports?
When did you leave Canada?
Have you been outside Canada or the US?
Do you have any symptoms?
Told us to self isolate and gave us the information sheet.
Didn’t ask what we had or how much we spent.
We were through in less than 5 min. Whew.
Another easy drive through NB and then onto the Confederation Bridge.

Was so glad to be back on good old PEI. And so thankful to my son Jared for having groceries in the house for us. Now starts our 14 day self isolation.
Today?
Ugh.
Unpacking. And more unpacking. And more unpacking. In the midst of all of this it seems never ending. The good thing is, it eventually does end and everything gets put away. I am unrelenting. Once I start I don’t stop until finished. Yay. Unpacking all done. Thank goodness.
Today’s window view when finally relaxing on the sofa.

Not too bad.
Take care everyone. Stay safe and stay well.
